"Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty."
Around the news cycle, watching the country circle the drain.
RFK Jr. correctly (for once) observes that they serve fast food poison on Trumps' private plane. Then he gets selected for a cabinet role. Then DJT arranges a photo op, with Musk sitting where the VP should be, and all of them force-feeding Kennedy a McDonald's combo meal. Shoving a Big Mac into his mouth, as a metaphor for shoving something else in that hole.
Then there's the nerdy little guy standing there behind him, not partaking of the nastiness spread across the table. You know him--the Speaker of the House. This would be the guy who said he wasn't going to get in the middle of deciding whether to release the House Ethics Committee report about the execrable behavior of our future Attorney General of the United States, Mr. Gaetz, then changed his mind after being flown to Mara Lago a couple days later to fellate the future CIC.
Not that it would matter. The adjudicated sex offender we just elected has picked another sex offender to be Sec Def.
Hell, it's probably a prereq for the job that you've at least tried to rape someone to serve on this cabinet.
None of these nominees is remotely qualified to serve in the cabinet. Apparently Majority Leader Mitch recognizes this, at least in part, and promises he won't let DJT sneak past the 22nd Amendment and make recess appointments when the Senate heads home for the holidays. His MAGA colleagues, among them the walking feces bag elected by my beloved Sunshine State last week, beg to differ.
Of course, this is the chinless weasel whose fecklessness as Majority Leader headed off the second impeachment, which in turn would have saved us all from what we're about to endure, because it's what a majority of us apparently want.
So don't hold your breath.
Just shaking my head at all this.
And I have to go to Florida today, for the first time since the election. God help me.
